  Florida Man

  It may be the farthest state away from Washington State, but that doesn’t mean we can’t recreate the crazy here in Seattle. Have one of your team members do one of the following actual Florida Man actions: Call a friend to report an imaginary friend missing For the purpose of this task, call someone who is a friend who isn’t participating in this Transit Trek. Tell them you can’t find your imaginary friend. Make sure they know you are talking about an imaginary friend so they don’t think you’re dealing with an actual issue. Attack someone with a banana For the purpose of this task, please only “attack” a fellow Transit Trekker on your team who consents to it and please don’t actually hurt them. Common sense applies here. Record it and send it to us. A man from Florida will decide whether your submission is acceptable or not.

  Ped Xing

  There are many signs across Seattle honoring Michael Xing’s cousin Pedro, who’s known as Ped for short. Find three of them at least one mile apart from each other. Take a selfie with each of them and let us know their exact locations. The signs must clearly say “PED XING”. If you see the words “PED XING” written on the road, those unfortunately do not count.

  Bigfoot

  Find three references to Bigfoot throughout Seattle, whether it’s a Bigfoot t-shirt in a store or a trinket or a billboard. Anything counts as long as someone else (who isn’t someone you know beforehand and isn’t affiliated with the Transit Trek) created it and it clearly depicts Bigfoot. Send us pictures to each reference (with the team members in the pictures).

  This Ain’t Spokane

  Find a restaurant that exists in both Seattle and Spokane which share the same name but are otherwise not related to each other. Then visit its location in Seattle (or one of them, if there’s multiple), take a picture with it, and send us the info on the corresponding unrelated but similarly named restaurant in Spokane. The restaurants must serve similar food.

  You Spokan’t Say It Like That

  Try to get a passer-by to say Spokane in the most common mispronunciation. Have one team member open their voice memo recording app. Have another team member write the word “Spokane” on their phone’s notes app, identify some passer-bys whom you do not know, and approach them. Start recording, show them your notes app, and ask them how they pronounce that word. You must record until one of the passers-by erroneously says that Spokane is pronounced spow-KAYN like “cane” (it’s actually pronounced spow-CAN, pronounced like “can”). Make a new recording for each person you ask. Send this recording to us; it must contain you asking them to pronounce the word. If you feed them the incorrect pronunciation, whether inadvertently or intentionally, that person’s response is disqualified and you must try again with someone else.

  Find a nudist beach within two miles of the Governor Albert D. Rosellini Bridge (on the Seattle side, of course). Take a selfie showing that you were there, but please take care to ensure your selfie does not include anyone nude.

  At 5:19pm PDT, send us a message requesting a secret code. Be on the 520 Bridge’s pedestrian walkway at 5:20pm PDT exactly. (Simply entering the walkway does not count; your feet must be above the waters of Lake Washington. Also, the Arboretum Waterfront Trail does not count.) You must send us your exact location and a selfie proving it; both Lake Washington and the bridge must be visible in your selfie. Also be sure your selfie has one team member’s phone showing the secret code. The selfie must be sent to us by 5:22pm PDT.

This popular Southwestern restaurant, said to be one of Cobain’s favorite dining spots, was one of the last places he was seen alive.   Diluting the Salty Sea

  Buy a paper or plastic cup without a lid that has at least 10 oz of capacity. Fill it up at least ¾ of the way with water from Lake Union or Lake Washington and deposit it all in Puget Sound. At least ½ of the cup of water must remain by the time the cup reaches Puget Sound. The water must remain in this very cup unless the cup is about to leak, in which case it’s okay to replace it with another paper or plastic cup without a lid that can store at least 10 oz of water. If the cup spills over ⅓ of its contents before it reaches Puget Sound, you must start over. Take a video of a member scooping water from the freshwater lakes and take another video of them depositing the water in Puget Sound.

  Buy a drink from a Starbucks west of Interstate 5. Then bring it to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and consume it. Take a video of you picking it up from the Starbucks and then of you consuming it from within the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. Feel free to consume it on the way there but you need to at least take your last sip at the Reserve Roastery.

  Bilt Rent Day is a SCAM. They advertise it as 6% back but in reality it's 3% back twice! Does this make a difference? YES. E.G. a $19.52 transaction gets 58 points because they round down from 58.5, on rent day rather than giving 6% which should be 117 points they give 3% (rounded down) twice. So you only get 116 points. This is fraud and I am outraged

  Challenge Jeffrey’s ability to recall lyrics by sending him two distinct and contiguous lines from the song comprising at least 10 distinct words. (Oohs and ahhs and other mumblings in the song do not count.) Send it to Game Control in the Signal chat, who will then pass it on to Jeffrey. He will be given 15 seconds to guess it.
